Ed is the contributing editor to Carswell’s Compensation & Duties of Estate Trustees, Guardians & Attorneys. Ed is also certified by the Law Society of Ontario as a Specialist in Estates and Trusts Law. He is a member of the St. Joseph's Health Centre Foundation’s Advisory Council. Ed is the author of seven estate books, including Estate to the Heart: How to Plan Wills and Estates for Your Loved Ones and two Complete Idiot’s Guides®. He has spoken to audiences across Canada and appears as a frequent media expert and writes on estate topics. Ed advises clients on estate planning, executor’s duties and estate litigation. He is a former executive member of the OBA’s Trust and Estate section, and past chair of the Law Practice Management and General Practice sections. Ed’s memberships include the American Bar Association. Ed is the Past Chair of the first “Make-a-Will Week” campaign. He is also past Co-Chair of the first “Make-a-Will Month” campaign. Both campaigns were province-wide public education programmes on wills and charitable gift giving. Ed sits on the Law Society’s Specialty Board certifying Ontario’s specialists.
