Speakers
Gareth Morley
Gareth Morley B.A., LL.B., LL.M. was called to the bar in Ontario and British Columbia in 1999. Since then, he has worked in the B.C. Ministry of Attorney General as a litigator, legislative drafter and constitutional solicitor, representing the provincial government in administrative and court proceedings, including the Supreme Court of Canada, most recently in the References re Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act. He has written articles in legal and public policy journals on criminal sentencing law, pension law, environmental policy, international armed conflict and human rights and Canadian constitutional law.
Gerard Kennedy
B.A., J.D., LL.M., Ph.D. is an assistant professor at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Law, where he researches and teaches civil procedure, administrative law, constitutional law, international law, and the legal profession. He is the author of The Charter of Rights in Litigation (Thomson Reuters) and The Civil Litigation Process (Emond Montgomery) and his scholarship has been published in the Manitoba Law Journal, Osgoode Hall Law Journal, Ottawa Law Review, Queen's Law Journal, Supreme Court Law Review, and Windsor Yearbook of Access to Justice, among elsewhere. Prior to entering full-time academia, Professor Kennedy practised law for four years as a litigator at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP.
Andrew Treash
