Shon Hopwood began his legal career writing briefs for other prisoners while serving 12 years in federal prison for bank robbery.  Hopwood is now an attorney, associate professor of law at Georgetown University, and a criminal justice reform advocate.  He helped develop the First Step Act- the first meaningful progressive reform to the federal criminal justice system to pass in decades-which was signed into law in December 2018.

Join us as Hopwood explores the extraordinary and compelling circumstances that led to the compassionate release of Adam Clausen.  Clausen had served 20 years of his 213-year sentence in federal prison with no chance of parole was granted compassionate release and awarded a second chance at life on August of 2020.
