The session will focus on what the future of legal work look like once there is a return to work and how the business and practice of law will be impacted in terms of overall business performance and growth, workflows, firm structure, technology adoption, marketing and business development, and changes to areas of law.

Omar Ha-Redeye

Omar Ha-Redeye is a lawyer and legal academic. He holds an LLM in Health Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, with coursework in Advanced Trial Advocacy. He is the Executive Director of the Durham Community Legal Clinic, which focuses on public legal education and providing legal services to low-income residents. Omar is actively involved in the legal profession and has held various leadership positions in several different advocacy and professional organizations. He is frequently interviewed by the media and speaks at conferences on legal issues, including on trends in the legal community and the use of technology.   
Amy Grubb

Amy Grubb works with solo, small firm and in-house lawyers by taking on their overflow legal work. She was trained on Bay Street and worked in Big Law for nearly 10 years before starting her virtual law firm, focusing extensively on commercial contracts. Amy also helps lawyers build the boutique practice of their dreams through one on one coaching and group programs. She is the founder of Solo/Small Firm Canadian Lady Lawyers, an online group for purpose driven and high performing Canadian women lawyers to learn, provide feedback and connect in order to create more profitable and enjoyable practices.

Jessica collaborates with Lenczner Slaght’s Management Committee, business function leads and various committees to build out and execute the firm’s strategic plan, facilitating a collaborative, cross-functional approach. She leads the firm’s client listening, innovation, process improvement, project management, pricing and business intelligence functions. Before joining Lenczner Slaght, Jessica worked for nearly a decade at national law and accounting firms, progressing through a series of roles focused on providing value to clients and showcasing specific capabilities and services.
Lisa Stam

Lisa Stam practices all aspects of employment, labour and human rights law, and has a particular interest in legal issues involving technology in the workplace and the various methods by which people continue to mess things up with technology. She regularly advises clients on the usual employment law fare: domestic and international employment advice, drafting offer letters and employment contracts, workplace policies and handbooks, advising on bonus and commission plans, benefits, workplace privacy issues, independent contractors, confidential and proprietary information, and discipline and terminations. She has also advised on a variety of human rights issues such as accommodating disabilities in the workplace, sexual harassment, discrimination and gender transition.
