Join us for Part 1 of a 3 part informal series around lawyering at home and adjusting to working in the new virtual reality.  

Part 1 will explore “Avoiding distractions” and will be an intimate discussion between Amy Grubb, Founder of The Law Office of Amy Grubb and Zena Applebaum, Director, Customer Insights & Proposition Strategy at Thomson Reuters. The session will focus on how lawyers can maximize their work days, and avoid distractions from pets, people and snacks, and still provide excellent customer service while working remotely.  The session will be followed by Q&A, or send your question(s) in advance to zena.applebaum@thomsonreuters.com and we will make sure to address it live.

Amy Grubb
Founder of The Law Office of Amy Grubb 
Amy Grubb works with solo, small firm and in-house lawyers by taking on their overflow legal work. She was trained on Bay Street and worked in Big Law for nearly 10 years before starting her virtual law firm, focusing extensively on commercial contracts. Amy also helps lawyers build the boutique practice of their dreams through one on one coaching and group programs. She is the founder of Solo/Small Firm Canadian Lady Lawyers, an online group for purpose driven and high performing Canadian women lawyers to learn, provide feedback and connect in order to create more profitable and enjoyable practices. 
Zena Applebaum
Director, Customer Insights & Proposition Strategy
Zena Applebaum is a Competitive Intelligence strategist, legal industry observer, personal brand advocate trying to change the legal industry one design thinking workshop at a time. Zena is currently the National Director, Market Insights & Customer Proposition at Thomson Reuters in Canada. In her role she is responsible for client intelligence, market insights, and sales enablement across all market segments. Having pioneered the discipline of law firm Competitive Intelligence nearly 20 years ago, Zena shares hers passion for the legal and CI industries as a speaker, writer and a contributor to blogs including 3 Geeks and a Law Blog. In 2015 Zena was inducted as a Fellow of the Council of CI Fellows, she has been a sessional instructor the University of Toronto iSchool, Rutgers University and a guest lecturer at law schools across North America. Zena honed her CI skills leading Competitive Intelligence groups at two of our GLLF firms prior to taking on her current role.
